While unpacking and going thru old papers i came across these lyrics. The first time i read them i thought that i should try to find some music for them sometime but then i just put them away. During this time of Covid-19 and unmitigated access to time and historical family items i came across this again. The first night i found them i placed them on my drums and went about my work of going thru papers and other ephemera that i cant toss. The next day i brought the paper upstairs from the basement, sat in the living room with an acoustic guitar and farted around a couple of chords and hummed a melody. I made a quick video of the chord progression and walked away from it that day. the next morning, i still remembered the riff and, after a little more fine tuning, i decided to just try to record whatever i could and however it would come out, whether it actually works for the song or not. So, after a few hours, i exhausted all of my internal hooks, but, here it is. I left space for a solo and i know how i want the lyrics to kinda go, but i also dont. And thats ok. I made this song for you, momma. Im sure, even if you didnt totally love it, you would make me believe that you did. 143 DFD
